Central Maine Power has made significant progress today and has successfully dropped the number of Cape Elizabeth residents without power from 70% to 23% in just 24 hours.
It goes without saying, these line workers have had an unbelievable challenge thrown at them and they are making the best of it. According to CMP’s website, it is expected that the majority of our residents will have service restored by 10pm tomorrow (11/2).

As of 11:40am, 96% of Cape Elizabeth is still without power. Central Maine Power is working around the clock to ensure that compromised power lines are safe and no longer energized. Restoration efforts will begin after this process has been completed. Unfortunately, there is no estimation of how long this process will take.
If you have been without power or are still without power, please double check and replace batteries in your CO/Smoke alarms. Newer alarms contain batteries for backup purposes and will to begin to chirp when the battery runs low.
Please remember, DO NOT run generators closer than 10 feet to any structure, inside a building/garage, or near any window or door.
As always, we will be here if you need us, please do not hesitate to call during an emergency.
